2010 LC SR Championships

Chris Clark qualified for 3 events at Senior Champs. He scored points for the team in the 15-16 boys 1500 freestyle taking 11th with a new team record. Congratulations Chris!

2010 Florida Swimming Long Course JO Championships

Congradulations to the following swimmers who qualified for the meet: Luke Hanner, Monroe Hulbert, Madison Jean, Quinn Lynch, Michael McKeithen, and Luke Morris.

Day 1

5 swimmers post 5 personal best times on Thursday. 3 team records fall as Luke Hanner, Quinn Lynch, and Luke Morris set new marks. Luke Hanner wins the gold in the 11-12 boys 100 freestyle and Quinn Lynch takes 10th in the 10&U boys 50 breast to score points for the team.  Great start Lightning!

Day 2

3 swimmers post 3 personal best times on Friday.  Luke Hanner and Quinn Lynch tally more points for the Lightning.  Both finish in the championship heat of their events as Luke takes silver in the 200 freestyle with a new team record and Quinn takes 8th in the 100 Breaststroke.

Day 3

Luke Hanner racks up more points on Saturday with 2 more personal best times and 2 more medals.  Another gold goes home with Luke for winning the 100 butterfly and he adds a bronze finnishing 3rd in the 400 freestyle.

Day 4

3 swimmers combine for 5 personal best times to finish off the meet.  Luke Hanner continues to put points on the board and medals in his pocket winning the gold in the 50 butterfly and the silver in the 50 freestyle.  All in all 6  Lightning swimmers post 13 personal best times and break 8 team records.  Great swimming Orange and Black!

SPA Summer Invitational

20 Lightning swimmers battled the weather for 20 personal best times last weekend at SPA. Luke Hanner broke 3 of his own records improving 11-12 boys 50 fly, 50 free and 400 free. Hannah Grant put her name next to the 13-14 girls 100 backstroke. Michael McKeithen made a new JO cut in the 10&U boys 50 free. The following swimmers finished top 3 in their events:
Luke Hanner 1st 11-12 boys 400 free, 2nd Open 50 fly.
Quinn Lynch 3rd 9-10 boys 50 breast.
Michael Troubeev 3rd 11-12 boys 50 breast.
Hannah Grant was the swimmer of the meet with 4 personal best times. Time to gear up for championship season!

GCST Summer Invitational

22 Lightning swimmers weathered the storm while posting 61 personal best times. Great determination in some awful weather was demonstrated by all who attended. 7 team records got faster as Luke Hanner reset the 11-12 boys 200 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM. Hannah Grant lowered the 11-12 girls 100 back and 50 back, and Luke Morris shaved time off the 13-14 boys 100 back. Monroe Hulbert was the swimmer of the meet with 7 personal best times.

SPA Friday Saturday at the Races

12 Swimmers posted 15 personal best times at the races last weekend. Some impressive first time swims added to the excitement. Max Morris was the swimmer of the meet with 3 personal best times and 2 second place finishes. 2 team records were broken. Hannah Grant reset the 11-12 girls 100 fly mark and Luke Morris trimmed down his own 100 backstroke record.

SYS Memorial Meet

56 personal best times and lots of great first time swims tell the story at SYS. Though the meet ran long it was well worth it. 11 team records went down. Hannah Grant, Monroe Hulbert, Luke Hanner, Luke Morris, and Chris Clark all broke team records. Luke Hanner and Chris reset multiple marks. The following swimmers scored points for the Lightning:

WFLA Spring Open

A small band of 9 Lightning swimmers made a big opportunity out of the WFLA meet posting 46 personal best times. A team record 10 team records were reset. Hannah Grant set a new mark in the 11-12 girls 100m Backstroke; Luke Hanner set 5 new marks, including bettering some of his own accomplishments, in the 11-12 boys 50 free, 100 free, 800 free, 50 fly, and 200 IM. Luke Morris broke the 13-14 boys 100 back and improved his own record in the 200 back, and Chris Clark put a dent in some old records in the boys 15 & over 800 free and 400 IM. Luke Hanner was the swimmer of the meet with a perfect 9 for 9 personal best times including placing top 3 in the following events: 1st 100 fly, 50 fly and 200 free, 2nd 100 free and 50 free, 3rd 200 IM, 50 breast and 100 breast.

17 Lightning swimmers posted 49 personal best times at the SPA meet last weekend.  Great start to the long course season.  3 team records were broken.  Luke Hanner set new marks in the 11-12 boys 400 free and 100 fly.  Luke Morris lowered the 13-14 boys 200 back.  The following swimmers placed top 3 in their events:

Camille Getty – 3rd in 11-12 girls 50 free and 100 breast.  Luke Hanner- 1st 11-12 boys 400 free, 100 fly, and 100 Fr.  Quinn Lynch – 3rd 9-10 boys 50 breast.  Max Morris – 1st 11-12 boys 50 Back.  Michael Troubeev – 1st 11-12 boys 50 Breast.

Michael McKeithan was the swimmer of the meet with 5 personal best times and the most time dropped overall.

Florida Gold Coast Vs Florida Swimming Dual Meet

Congratulations to Luke Hanner for making the Florida Swimming All-Star Team.  Luke did an outstanding job representing the Lightning on Florida Swimming’s All-Star Team as Florida Swimming won the dual meet against our neighbor LSC yet again.

Luke broke 3 team records, including 2 of his own, setting new marks in the 11-12 boys 100 freestyle , 50 fly, and 25 freestyle.  He medaled in all 6 of his events with 1st place finishes in the 100 free, 100 fly, and 50 fly; second place finishes in the 50 free and 500 free; and a third place finish in the 200 free.

3rd Annual Orange Vs Black Meet

Last year’s meet couldn’t have been closer but this year’s was! Instead of winning by 4, this year Black won by 2. At this rate we’re headed for a tie next year. Lots of unofficial best times and 4 team records broken. A big thanks to the parent volunteers, can’t run a meet without this support. Outstanding team spirit displayed by the swimmers. Time for everyone to take a break and come back refocused for long course season.

Area 3/5 Championships

Great final short course season meet. Lightning swimmers posted 64 personal best times while breaking 7 team records. Keely Radloff broke 5 team records in the 8 and under girls category! These included setting new times in the 25 free, 200 free, 50 back, 50 fly and 100 IM. Luke Hanner set a new mark in the 11-12 boys 100 back and Luke Morris lowered the mark in the 13-14 boys 200 back. 

New JO cuts were made by Hannah Grant (1000 free and 50 fly) and Quinn Lynch (100 IM).  

The following swimmers finished in the top 8 in their events: Chris Clark-8th 15-18 boys 200 back; Camille Getty-4th 11-12 girls 50 Breast and 3rd 100 IM, Hannah Grant -6th 11-12 girls 200 IM, 5th 200 free, and 2nd 50 fly; Lyle Hanner -6th 11-12 boys 200 IM;  Monroe Hulbert -6th 11-12 girls 50 breast and 7th 100 IM;  Madison Jean-4th 11-12 girls 50 fly;  Quinn Lynch-4th 9-10 boys 100 IM;  Michael McKeithan-5th 9-10 boys 200 free and 7th 200 IM;  Luke Morris-3rd 13-14 boys 200 back and 6th 100 back; Keely Radloff-1st 8 & under girls 50 back, 50 fly and 100 IM;  Michael Troubeev-7th 11-12 boys 50 breast.

The swimmers  of the meet were Hannah Grant with 5 personal best times and Keely Radloff with 4 personal best times and 5 new team records.  Great swimming in some tough weather by all who attended!  Time to gear up for long course.

2010 Spring Junior Olympic Championships

Congratulations to 6 Lightning qualifiers: Camille Getty, Hannah Grant, Luke Hanner, Lyle Hanner, Quinn Lynch, and Max Morris.

Day 1

Max Morris and Luke Hanner scored points for the Lightning in Thursday’s distance events.  Luke took 5th in the 11-12 boys 1000 freestyle with a personal best time.  Max placed 7th in the 10&U boys 500 freestyle setting a new team record with a personal best time.

Day 2

Max Morris and Luke Hanner added to the Lightning point total on Friday.  Max placed 9th in the 10&U boys 200 free.  Luke finished 2nd in the 11-12 boys 200 freestyle and took 3rd in the 50 Butterfly with a new team record and personal best time.

Day 3

Luke Hanner brought home the gold winning the 11-12 boys 100 butterfly and smashing his own team record.  10&U boys Lyle Hanner, Quinn Lynch, Max Morris, and Michael McKeithan got into the scoring action taking 9th in the 200 medley relay.  Camille Getty set a new team record in the 11-12 girls 50 freestyle.

Day 4

The team finished stong with 3 swimmers adding to the point total.  Luke Hanner won another medal taking 3rd in the 11-12 boys 200 IM with a personal best and new team record time.  Luke also placed 6th in the 100 free with another personal best time.  Congratulations to Luke for placing top 6, including winning the 100 fly and 4 total medals, in all 6 of his events.  Max Morris finished 9th in the 10&U boys 200IM and 10th in the 100 back.  The 100 back swim was a new team record.  Quinn Lynch fiinished 10th in the 10&U boys 50 breastroke with another team record.  Finally, though not placing, Hannah Grant set a new team record in the 11-12 girls 100 backstroke.

CAT Last Chance Champs

6 Lightning swimmers posted 38 personal best times.  Hannah Grant made 2 new JO cuts in the 11-12 girls 500 free and 100 fly.  Quinn Lynch broke the team record in the 10&U boys 100 breast.  Chris Clark set new records in the 15& over 400m free and 200m back.  The swimmer of the meet was Quinn Lynch with 8 personal best times.  Nice swimming Orange and Black.

GCST 2010 Winter Invitational

Outstanding meet Lightning! 28 swimmers combined for 85 personal best times and lots of first time swims.  Luke Hanner set new team reacords in 4 11-12 boys events: 200 free, 50  breast, 50 fly and 100 fly.  He also finished 2nd overall in total points for 11-12 boys.  Luke Morris set a new team record in the 13-14 boys 200 back.  Lyle Hanner made 2 new 9-10 boys JO cuts in the 200 free and 100 IM and Chris Clark made the 15-16 boys Senior cut for the 1650.  Gabby Murphy was the swimmer of the meet with 8 personal best times.  Top 3 finishes included the following swimmers:

Luke Hanner (11-12 boys): 1st in 200 free, 100 fly, 200 IM, 100 IM, 50 fly, and 1000 free.  2nd in 50 back and100 breast.  3rd in 100 back.

Ryan Katchen (8 & U boys): 2nd in the 25 back and 25 fly.

Quinn Lynch (9-10 boys): 3rd in the 100 breast

Max Morris (9-10 boys): 1st in 500 free, 2nd in 1000 free, 3rd in 200 free, 100 free, and 50 back.

CAT Jingle Bell Splash

12 Lightning swimmers got into the holiday spirit in Clearwater. 2 team records fall as they posted 24 personal best times.  Luke Hanner placed 1st in the 11-12  boys finals session in the 200 and 50 fly and 2nd in the 50 free setting new team marks in the 50 fly and 50 free.  Swimmers finishing in the top 3 in the developmental session include:  Chris Clark 15 & O boys- 3rd 200 free and 3rd 100 back,  Lyle Hanner 1st 10 & U boys 200 IM, Quinn Lynch 1st 10 & U boys 50 breast, Max Morris 10 & U boys – 1st 50 back and 100 IM and 2nd 200 free.  Chris Clark was the swimmer of the meet with 4 personal best times and the most time dropped overall.  Solid mid-season meet swimmers.

B Championships West

Lightning swimmers posted 32 personal best times over the weekend.  Lots of first times swims.  Keely Radloff broke another 8&U girls team record in the 100 freestyle.  Christine McKeithen was the swimmer of the meet with 4 personal best times and the most time dropped over all.  Swimmers finishing in the top 3 of their events include:

Chris Clark 15-18 boys:  1st 200 back, 3rd 200IM, 2nd 100 back, and 3rd 200 breast.  Lincoln Hulber: 1st 13-14 boys 200 fly.  Monroe Hulbert: 2nd 11-12 girls 50 free.  Madison Jean: 1st 11-12 girls 50 fly.  Quinn Lynch 10&U boys: 1st 50 breast, 3rd 200 free, 1st 100 breast, and 3rd 200IM.  Keely Radloff 8&U girls:  2nd 100 free(10&U), 2nd 50 back, and 1st 100IM.  Alex Williams: 2nd 10&U boys 100 back.  Eric Williams 8&U boys:  3rd 25 breast and 3rd 100IM.

Lightning show up huge at SYS. 83 personal bests from 32 swimmers tells the story. New JO cuts were made by Hannah Grant (11-12 Girls 100 BK), Max Morris (10&U 50 free), Lyle Hanner (10&U boys 200IM), and Camille Getty (11-12 Girls 50 free). Lightning top 3 finishes included Luke Hanner (1st in 11-12 boys 500fr, 50fly, 100fly and 2nd in 100fr, 200IM, 100Br, 200fr) Lyle Hanner (3rd 10&U boys 50Br) Ryan Katchen (3rd 8&U boys 25 back) Quinn Lynch (3rd 10&U boys 100Br) Max Morris (2nd 10&U boys 200IM, 3rd 50bk, 200fr) Keely Radloff (1st 8&U girls 25fr, 2nd 25 bk, 50fly, 50fr). Max Morris was the swimmer of the meet with 8 personal best times. Great swimming is an understatement, this meet was absolutely outstanding.

SPA Friday Nite at the Races

Great sprinting Lightning! 19 swimmers combined for 37 personal best times. 2 team records went down as Luke Hanner posted a new mark in the boys 11-12 100 breast and Hannah Grant dropped the girls 11-12 50 back. New JO cuts were made by Hannah Grant (50 back) and Quinn Lynch (50 breast). Top 3 finishes included Hannah Grant (1st 11-12 girls 50 back), Camille Getty (3rd 11-12 girls 50 free), and Quinn Lynch (3rd 10& u boys 50 breast).  Camille Getty was the swimmer of the meet with 4 personal best times and the most time dropped overall. Great effort by everyone!

WFLA Halloween Meet

Finally got to swim in some cold weather! Lightning swimmers were up to the challenge. 25 swimmers posted 48 personal best times. Luke Hanner finished 3rd in the boys 11-12 50 and 100 fly and won the 200 freestyle. Luke was the swimmer of the meet with 6 personal best times. Hannah Grant broke her own record in the 11-12 girls 100 back. Great effort from all who braved the cold.

SPA Friday Night at the Races

Fast and fun. 21 Lightning swimmers posted 36 personal best times. Top 3 finishes were recorded by Christian Doebler (3rd boys open 50 back) and Keely Radloff (1st 8&U girls 25 breaststroke). Keeley Radloff also broke 2 team records in the 8&U girls 50 back and 25 breaststroke. Christian Doebler was the swimmer of the meet with 4 personal best times. Way to go Lightning!

SPA 2009 Total Team Ware Invitational

The Lightning bolted into the new season with a great first meet. 24 swimmers combined for 57 personnal best times while breaking 5 team records. Keely Radloff broke 3 team records (one her own) in the 8&U 25 free, 25 back, and 25 fly. Hannah Grant broke the team record in the 11-12 girls 100 back while Luke Hanner brought his own record down in the 11-12 boys 50 fly. Quinn Lynch (10&U 100 breast) and Lyle Hanner (10&U 50 breast) posted new JO Cuts. Top 3 finishers included Luke Hanner (3rd 11-12 boys 50 free, 2nd 50 fly, 3rd 50 breast, 2nd 100 fly, and 3rd open 1000 free), and Keely Radloff (2nd 8&U 25 free, 25 back, and 25 fly). Luke Hanner was the swimmer of the meet with 8 personal best times. Nice swimming Lightning!

2009 Area 3-5 Championships

Outstanding meet Lightning! 18 swimmers racked up 72 personal best times while breaking 6 team records. Keely Radloff set new marks in the 8&U girls 50 back and 50 fly. Triston Krebs put her name next to the 9-10 girls 100 back and Hannah Grant set a new standard for the 11-12 girls 50 back. Luke Morris got in on the action claiming the 11-12 boys 200 back record and Chris clark placed his name next to the 13-14 boys 200 back mark. Top 3 finishers included Lyle Hanner (3rd 9-10 boys 50 breast and 100 breast), Triston Krebs (2nd 9-10 girls 25 back), Michael McKeithen (3rd 9-10 boys 25 fly), Luke Morris (1st 11-12 boys 100 breast and 2 50 free), Max Morris (1st 9-10 boys 25 back, 2nd 25 fly and 100 breast, and 3rd 50 free and 25 breast), and Keely Radloff (1st 8 & under girls 50 back and 50 fly). Lyle Hanner was the swimmer of the meet with 8 personal best times. Great way to end the year swimmers. See you August 17th to get back to work.

2009 Summer LC Junior Olympic Championships

Congratulations to the 7 Lightning qualifiers: Chris Clark, Hannah Grant, Luke Hanner, Tristan Krebs, Quinn Lynch, Luke Morris, and Max Morris.

DAY 1

3 Lightning swimmers scored points for the Lightning on Thursday while breaking 2 team records. Luke Morris finished 7th in the 11-12 boys 100 backstroke with a new team record. Max Morris was 15th in the 10&U boys 400 freestyle. Luke Hanner finished 10th in the 11-12 boys 800 freestyle, knocking more time off his own team record.

DAY 2

Luke Hanner swam a personal best time and placed 14th in the 11-12 boys 200 freestyle.

Day 3

More great swims on Saturday. Luke Hanner finished 9th in the 11-12 100 fly and 14th in the 400 free. Both swims were personal bests. Luke Morris posted his own personal best taking 10th in the 11-12 50 backstroke.

Day 4

Luke Hanner finished 16th in the 11-12 boys 200 IM and 7th in the 50 fly.

SYS Last Chance Meet

New JO cut from Tristan Krebs in the 200 meter freestyle. Great effort from all invited.
